PZ 2013 I: Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union

The theme of the first English-language issue of 2013, I is the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It attempts to assess the implementation of the intentions, plans, expectations and effects of the activities and achievements or shortcomings of the Polish Presidency. The authors highlighted the problems arising from the mandatory tasks of the presiding country, as well as from Poland's own initiatives, and tried to point out various effects and achievements. However, it is impossible to consider the course of any presidency in isolation from the condition of the entire EU and the impact of global trends, priorities, adopted scenarios, their manner of implementation and effects, so texts showing many sensitive EU problems were also included.

The creation of the English-language version of the Western Review was financed by a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the "Index Plus" program (project number Ix P0209 2012).
